After a gap of 3 years finally I went for a tour aboard to the misty beauty of Shillong. To go to Shillong you have to cross the Tamabil Dawki border situated 60 km from Sylhet. I would suggest that you make this trip at least for 5-7 days so that you can cover at least 80% of the places.
I stayed there for 6 days & as planned by a friend of mine I managed to cover 70% places with no regrades of those missing places. I stayed one night @ Mawlynnong village, one night @ Cherapunji, 2 nights @ Shillong & one night @ Shnongpdeng.
If you go try to spend most time at Cherapunji which really is the highlights of the tour while Shillong is small narrow city with huge traffic jams so spending time there is sort of waste.
As I biker I noticed lots of Royal Enfield & I understood why the people there are so fond of Royal Enfield. Very soon Royal Enfield will come in Bangladesh!
If you travel light with a small group of 3-4 people I suggest to hire a car like Suzuki Alto or Suzuki Ciaz for 5 days trip which will cost you around 15-17k rupees.
